Errors use this shape. request_id matches the X-Request-Id response header.

Types you will see: invalid_request_error, authentication_error, card_error, idempotency_error, rate_limit_error, and api_error.

The API allows 180 authenticated requests per minute per account. A 429 uses code rate_limited.
